Hiyas! Yes been a bit busy so no posts for awhile but just saw this post in an article/interview with Major Lazer and they mentioned some friends of mine who danced with them recently at a private MOVISTAR gig in Buenos Aires! Estefi and I do the colours and cuts thought I should def post this pic do they look the shit or what? They spent ages rolling the hair up on chopsticks to get these super curly looks (except for Marlene who has the dope natural fro already!)

Warning! R16 Explicit head exploding video below. Your viewing discretion is advised. This post was meant for halloween but as I celebrate my birthday that eve it has taken a few days to get back on track. Deciding to be an English speaking hairdresser in Buenos Aires that doesn't charge has I'm sure caused a few heads to explode, It for me has been a great boludo filter. Empowerment - Responsibility - Understanding - Quality - Progression Zeitgeist Now! We sow the seeds of change, nature grows them, then we eat them. Enjoy the exploding heads! My fingers lost their feeling, not a great thing for a hairdresser. A day later, though I have feeling in them again, today they are still shrivelled and wrinkled like I've been in the bath too long. Why? Ironically, it was the Botox (for hair), not really the products fault as I didn't wear gloves (duh!) Samantha had an afro and our mission was to ease out the tightness of the mega mini ringlets, we achieved this and some! With a large dose of humor and patients, the hours rolled away and her newest change of style emerged. See photos. Samantha tells me that in the USA it is common for afro headed travelers to have their hair searched for contraband and of a woman who found a rock in her hair once that didn't know how it got there! It's interesting the conversations that pop up. Back in the days when thatched rooves were the usual option, of wigs and lead-based makeup, the less wealthy would at times awaken to find birds, snakes, spiders or even vermin nesting in their coiffured locks. Someone came up with the bright idea of placing four posts to the corner of the bed and draping fabric across the top to catch the wildlife that would fall at night. These days four poster beds are still catching wildlife... In Buenos Aires today you need to watch out for "landmines" on the sidewalk, back in those days though they would open the windows and throw out buckets of shit. Kind of puts the trash throwing bad habits of the average Argentine into perspective, yes? Thanks Samantha Sent from my Windows Phone More to come on the results of this shoot but even though we were running to catch the light the spread for the NYC magazine launch should work out OK! NOTE!!! This is a snap from my phone and is NOT Patricio´s finished product Francesca Fiorentini21 hours ago near Buenos Aires ·
Since mediaeval times, Anglo-Saxon and Anglo Norman women´s attire included veils. Historically unmarried girls wore no veils. The veil had a practical purpose for it had covered the woman´s hair and skin. Veils had served a functional purpose, protecting women´s skin from wind and sun damage. By the 15th century, hoods become prevalent, and veils became less widespread. However the church, always in search of new marketing techniques loved the symbolism and suggested the relation of a funeral shroud, as the women "dies" and leaves behind her family name to be reborn as "Mrs Rumplestiltskin" or whomever.
Virgins have always been a hot commodity in our male dominated society. Historically, brides wore their hair flowing down their back on their wedding day to symbolize their virginity, now the white veil is often said to symbolize purity, and the long hair seen on the streets of Buenos Aires is nothing more than a red herring Your English speaking hairdresser in Buenos Aires on HAIR COLOUR Your English speaking hairdresser in Buenos aires understands colour, I added the pH chart to highlight something IMPORTANT. The neutral pH is 7 yet the the protein keratin which makes up your hair is best in a slightly acidic state, it keeps the cuticles nicely closed and promotes shine. Blonde hair, if it goes too far it turns to cystaic acid (think of wet cotton wool, not great on your head, and irreparable) Here is a popular question: I lightened my brown hair but want my natural colour back. Can I darken it with a home colour kit? It's not as easy as slapping on some brown dye, but with these pointers, you can get your natural colour back. One of the basics you learn when studying the chemistry of hair is that when you bleach your tresses, you strip away the rainbow of tones (bits of red, orange, yellow, and blue) that make up a rich brown hair colour. So you have to put those colors back in to re-create the original colour, this is why when you place a "natural" brown onto prelightened hair it often looks GREEN, there needs to be enough RED PIGMENT in the colour to counter the green. To do this, pick out a semipermanent hair-colour kit in a warm brown shade (look for the word golden in the shade name). Let the colour process for as long as the directions indicate, then rinse out. After your hair dries, apply another semipermanent dye that matches your roots exactly. This should bring you back to your beautiful natural hue. Your English speaking hairdresser loves home hair kits, they are great for business. |
